for politics. place for politics. >>> well, this is a sad story. we learned today jesse jackson, jr. is being charged with conspiring to spend campaign funds on personal expenses. jackson allegedly conspired to spend $750,000 in campaign funds. sources tell politico those expenses are said to include a $43,000 rolex, home renovations and fur coats among other things. jackson issued a statement this afternoon saying he fully accepts responsibility for his mistakes. politico says prosecutors will recommend a prison sentence of between 46 and 57 months and he had a career ready to go. jackson's wife also pled guilty to one count of tax fraud. i guess this is all a plea bargain. we'll be right back. some breaks news crossing moments ago, on the former congressman jesse jackson, jr., reports he has signed a plea deal with the justice department regarding the misuse of campaign funds. the chicago sun times reported earlier that the plea is expected to include significant jail time for jesse jackson, jr. the reported deal would also involve repaying the government hundreds of thousands of dollars. fox has confirmed that a deal has been reached on the misuse of funds, but we're trying to get more specifics into what is involved here. you'll remember that he left congress, the reports were that he was not well and now we've learned this development for jesse jackson, jr. and more coming up on that, stay tuned for more as you get it. so, a nasty surprise for americans as they go to fill up their tanks, ahead of the big winter storm today and we all have been encouraged to do that because you remember what happened during hurricane sandy and gas prices start their annual jump, a little bit higher than usual this time around, the average price for a gallon of regular now $3.57. and thi

. andrew jackson basically ended its charter. there's a long history of mistrust in parts of the united states about the central bank and what it does. back in the derickson and hamilton days, a lot of the farm state bankers did not trust the first bank of the united states. -- back in the days of jefferson and hamilton. there is a federal reserve board in washington made up of seven governors and chairman who is ben bernanke. then there are 12 regional fed banks. they're all part of this federal reserve system. the regional fed bank, every chartered bank of the united states has to pay in capital to the federal reserve banks and in return they get a dividend. but these are not banks the way we think of commercial banks. the federal reserve bank of new york is not like citigroup out there trying to earn big profits to return to shareholders. their job is to manage the money supply. it is also to be a lender of last resort in a crisis, which is what the federal reserve did in 2007. when there is a run on a bank, when depositors flee the banking system because they are scared their money
